Going to back to school can cause a lot of panic in the beauty department. I went on a vigorous search for what girls are asking and found a few things I could help with...
Skin:How do I get clear skin before school starts, and keep it clear? Having clear skin begins with proper cleansing. That means washing your face properly before bed, making sure all of your makeup is off before you enter dreamland. If you're looking for that fresh faced glow, you simply must get on the moisturizing train! Make a trip to your local beauty store (or online) to see which facial moisturizer you should use in your daily routine.
Makeup:Should I go natural or do something bold for my first day? Your first day of school can easily set the tone for the way others perceive you for the rest of the year. So, take some time to think about who you are and how much daily time you're willing to invest in your beauty routine. You don't want to be that girl whose yearbook picture looks more like an evil twin than a flashback to nine months ago. If you're undecided, go with something classic like a nude lip and cat eyeliner.
Fashion Trends:What are some budget-friendly fall/winter trends I can use to kick off this year? Because it's "back to school," the skater skirt is the perfect trend for your first day back. It's high waist (great for hiding any of that late summer tummy), feminine, and flirty. Best thing about the skater skirt is that there are so many ways to wear it! It comes in so many colors and lengths, can be worn tucked in or out, and even works with your favorite crop tops. There's a great selection on asos.com :)
Uniform Dilemma: My school has a uniform. How do I stand out? When I spent my few months at boarding school, I battled hard with my uniform. Red polos and khakis really don't look that good on anyone. So, how do you stand out when your school is practically forcing you to look like everybody else? Accessories, clever makeup tricks, and pilates are your best friend. Accessories can change the feel of your outfit from chic to urban with something as simple as the color of your hair tie. Play with matching colors & patterns. If you're allowed to rock bold lips, by all means get on the bandwagon! And why pilates? Because uniforms are made to be unflattering! As long as you can keep your tummy tucked, you can rock any polo, sweatshirt, or button down.
Hope that helps! If you have any more specific questions, feel free to reach out to me on Facebook where I can answer right away. Wishing you a successful start to the school year.
