The Taylor Swift song 22 was playing when I picked this outfit. I may be 22 years old, and as her song suggests, I just want to dance all night. My outfit may have been influenced by Taylor, but was inspired by the day's events: a play date with two very cheerful spirits who've been writing to me since the beginning of my televised musical journey.
First off, there's Laura. She's a spunky 12 year old with some serious attitude. She doesn't take shit from anyone staring at the mall, has no reservations when it comes to making a scene at the local tapioca bar, and has a street-smart way about her. My kind of girl. Though she may just be twelve years old, this girl's already developing a style of her own and I am digging it!
Second, there's Jasmin (aka Becky). She's 15 and comes from a town not quite as far away as Laura. She spends most of her days at home doing crafts and mastering her social media marketing skills, all the while taking care of a household of hyperactive younger siblings. She's a good girl for her age. It's good to know there's still a few of those out there.
The weather was hot, hot, hot! Wearing a 100% cotton eyelet crop top was probably the best decision I've made in a while. Although I did sweat through, none of my perspiration was visible due to the material plus I got some nice ventilation through the holes. ;)
As for the skirt, I went for a cool blue second hand purchase from Czech bazar, Votocvohoz.cz. It's just H&M, but for the extremely hot sun, it was perfect. My legs happily welcomed every passing breeze. Just remember, if you're wearing a fluffy skirt, there's a pretty good chance your underwear will be seen! Pick a cute one just in case.
For my day with the girls, I opted for walking shoes. In my closet, that means these leather brogues from Bata.eu and a pair of socks to prevent blisters. If you love the look but definitely don't want to get mistaken for a teenager, skip the flats and rock a pair of colorful pumps or even Birkenstocks!
What do you think of this look? Have you ever gone Lolita? Let me know in the comments!
